This day is celebrated on March 30. However, it was first acknowledged in 2015 by Eniyavan from Chennai.
To celebrate the Idli day in his own way, Eniyavan made around a thousand Idlis. Alongwith he also made a cake of 44 kg Idli. It was cut by an official on March 30, 2015, to observe this day as World Idli day.
On this World Idli Day we have an interesting fact for you. Idli was first originated in Indonesia. It came as fermented food and only later came to India in 800-1200 CE.
Idli is a tasty south Indian dish. Idli is eaten with Sambhar and chutney. Moreover, there are more than a hundred types of idli.
