1. Kasturba Gandhi was born on April 11, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat, India.

2. She was married to Mahatma Gandhi at the age of 13 and had four children with him.

3. Kasturba played a significant role in the Indian freedom struggle and worked alongside her husband to fight for India’s independence from British rule.

4. She was an advocate for women’s rights and worked to promote education and healthcare for women in India.

5. Kasturba was imprisoned multiple times for her involvement in the freedom struggle and was subjected to harsh treatment in jail.

6. She was a vegetarian and supported the Indian independence movement’s call for boycott of British goods and clothing.

7. Kasturba also played a key role in the establishment of ashrams and worked to promote communal harmony in India.

8. She passed away on February 22, 1944, at the age of 74, while imprisoned in the Aga Khan Palace in Pune, India, and is remembered as an inspirational figure in India’s struggle for freedom.
