Prince Philip, duke of Edinburgh’s funeral service is undergoing in the Windsor Castle. Earlier, in the day, Queen Elizabeth II shared a “private photograph” of herself with her late husband.
The photo was shared on the official Instagram handle of Buckingham Palace. In the photo, the Queen and the late duke of Edinburg can be seen relaxing outdoors. The royal couple is sitting in the backdrop of alluring mountains and greenery.
“The Queen wishes to share this private photograph taken with The Duke of Edinburgh at the top of the Coyles of Muick, Scotland in 2003,” the caption with the post read. Countess of Wessex has clicked the photo.
“Her Majesty and the Royal Family are grateful for all the messages of condolence from around the world and have been touched to see and hear so many people sharing fond memories of The Duke, in celebration of his life,” it further read.
Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II relationship
Prince Philip and the Queen got married on November 20, 1947 in Westminster Abbey. The Queen and the duke of Edinburgh were the first royal couple who celebrated platinum anniversary. The couple was together for 73 years. As a result, late Prince Philip became the longest serving consort in the royal family.
Prince Philip passed away on April 9, 2021, at Windsor Castle.
