According to a new study, the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine also protects unvaccinated individuals within the locality.

We all know that Covid-19 is a disease caused by a novel strain of coronavirus, named SARS-CoV-2. Recently several studies have highlighted the importance of mass vaccination. This will help to control the spread of this fatal virus.

There is a study that now claims that the BNT162b vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech helps in protecting even the unvaccinated people.

An observational study was conducted by Milman O et.al. Researchers evaluated the complete vaccination records as well as test results that were obtained during mass vaccination programs within a large population.

In this, they found that the number of vaccines administered within each community was strongly linked with a substantial reduction of positivity rate later. But this was found among a cohort of participants under the category of 16 age group. It is to be noted that they were not vaccinated.

But for obvious reasons, the study requires more substantial results to prove this in future.
