Radhika Merchant, the fiancée of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, and Shaila Merchant. On Thursday, the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, had its roka ritual. Udaipur and Nathdwara are separated by 48 miles. For a number of years, Radhika, 24, and Anant, 27, have been together. Radhika frequently appears at Ambani family gatherings. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding as well as Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s were both attended by her.
The roka ritual, according to a statement from Reliance, was performed “in the presence of family and friends and blessed by the priests of the temple.
The young couple spent the day in the temple, where they prayed for Lord Shrinathji’s blessing on their impending union and took part in the Raj-bhog-shringaar rituals. The statement went on to say that the happy occasion will be celebrated by the engaged couple’s family and friends later today.
“Anant and Radhika have been dating for a few years, and today’s ceremony marks the beginning of their official marriage adventure, which will take place in the coming months. As Radhika and Anant begin their journey of union, both families ask for everyone’s blessings and well wishes, according to the statement.
Who is Radhika Merchant?
Radhika, originally from Kutch in Gujarat, has lived in Mumbai for many years. She finished her education at the renowned Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai as well as the Juhu-based École Mondiale World School. From BD Somani International School, she later received an International Baccalaureate diploma.
Radhika afterwards relocated to New York to continue her education. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from New York University and then joined the Isprava Group, a developer of luxury homes that has the support of people like Nadir Godrej, Anand Piramal, and the Burman family of Dabur.
Radhika is currently one of the directors on the Encore Healthcare Board. She is also renowned for being an avid supporter of animal welfare.
She also has Bharatnatyam dancing training, having studied with Guru Bhavana Thakar at Shree Nibha Arts.
Many celebrities from Bollywood and sports attended Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s opulent arangetram ceremony for Radhika earlier this year at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai.
Radhika Merchant’s Engagement Ceremony At Antilia
The wedding of Anant and Radhika was announced by the families in 2019.
According to a statement from the Ambanis, “Age-old customs like the Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi – performed for generations among Gujarati Hindu families – were executed with tremendous fervour in the family temple.”
Gol Dhana, which translates to “jaggery with coriander seeds,” is a Gujarati tradition for the pre-wedding ritual. The groom’s home is where the event is held, and these things are distributed there. The bride’s family brings presents and treats to the groom’s house before the pair exchanges rings.
The Ambani family, lead by Anant’s sister Isha Ambani, visited the Merchant home to extend an invitation to Radhika and the other family members for this evening’s festivities.
Anant Ambani wore blue clothing, while Radhika Merchant wore a golden lehenga.
Nita Ambani, Anant’s mother, performed unexpectedly during the wedding ceremony.
