Fitness influencer, Ridhi Sharma (@getfitwithrid), who has been diagnosed with PCOS, says it is very much possible to lose 20 kgs without dieting or hitting the gym. Here are the six rules that helped Ridhi go through this unbelievable transformation.
1. Home Workouts: 30-40 minutes a day
Ridhi did not rely on costly gym memberships. Instead, she worked out at home 30-40 minutes a day, doing strength training and Pilates 5-6 times a week. She began with the basic equipment of a yoga mat, dumbbells, and a resistance band. The home workouts helped her tone her body and minimize sagging skin during weight loss.
2. Simple Homemade Food
Instead of sticking to the diet plan, Ridhi selected home-cooked food only. She also was specific about the right quantity and added protein- diet items such as tofu, paneer, soya, beans, and legumes to keep her replenished with energy. It became a fun experience to consume most wanted food, letting her lose weight simultaneously.
3. Refined Sugar and Packaged Foods Avoided
She completely replaced sugar and junk with her diet to not gain calories on anything unnecessary. So, she kept her diet very pure, naturally maintaining her energy levels and avoiding unwanted weight gain.
4. Daily Walking: 7-10 K Steps
Daily, she walks 7,000 to 10,000 steps to maintain her weigh loss journey. "I never stopped moving," she said of her rest days. "Walking is a game changer," she shared in an active lifestyle of hers.
5. Getting Enough Sleep
She made sure that her body gets around 7-8 hours of good quality sleep every single night. Sleep was a significant part of her recovery and losing her weight, and after sleep, her body could repair well and function.
6. Consistency
Consistency is the word for the lady. Having her routine of exercise and good eating helped her reach her goal of weight loss. She was patient and persistent in her work.
