Traffic Congestion in Greater Noida West: A Growing Concern for Residents

Traffic congestion in Greater Noida West has reached alarming levels, causing significant frustration among residents, especially during peak hours. The main issue arises at Gaur Chowk, where vehicles from Greater Noida, Crossings Republik, and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway converge, creating long queues and slow-moving traffic.

Residents are taking to social media to voice their grievances. Manish Kumar, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1, shared a video on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), highlighting the worsening traffic situation. He reported that travel times have increased by nearly 30 minutes, with a mere 2km stretch now taking 45 minutes to cross.

The problem has been exacerbated by monsoon-induced potholes near Gaur City Mall and the closure of service lanes by the traffic police, further slowing down traffic flow. These issues are contributing to daily frustration for commuters, with many calling for immediate solutions.

Efforts are underway to address the problem, including a plan for a six-lane underpass on the Taj Highway, which aims to improve connectivity between Greater Noida and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. However, residents continue to demand quicker action to alleviate the traffic chaos.
