Dowry Dispute in Greater Noida: A shocking case of dowry harassment has emerged from Dadri, Greater Noida, where a woman was nearly killed by her in-laws over unmet dowry demands. The incident took place on Railway Road, with the victim being locked in a room by her husband and in-laws. They tied her hands, feet, and mouth with cloth, attempting to suffocate her. However, the woman raised an alarm and nearby locals rushed to rescue her by breaking the glass door of the room to free her.
The victim's family asserts that for the last one year, the woman was being severely ill-treated by her in-laws, who were asking for a luxury car as part of the dowry. It further alleged that she was made hungry and deprived of essential facilities most of the times. Following the shocking incidence, the victim's family filed a complaint with Dadri police.
The police have lodged a case against five accused people who were involved in the attack. The police have arrested the accused, and this case has brought to light how dowry-related violence continues unabated in the region.
