Noida International Airport is set to begin commercial flight operations on April 17, 2025, offering both domestic and international flights. Yamuna International Airport Ltd. (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich AG, shared a detailed timeline outlining the necessary clearances for the airport's launch. Noida International Airport Ltd. (NIAL), which oversees the project, led the meeting, highlighting the key milestones for a smooth and timely opening.

Serving as the second major airport for the Delhi-NCR region, Noida International Airport was originally scheduled to open in September 2024. However, commercial operations were postponed. Once fully operational, the airport is expected to handle up to 65 flights per day, including 62 domestic, 2 international, and 1 cargo flight.

NIAL CEO Arun Vir Singh mentioned the possibility of bringing the launch date forward but emphasized that any delays beyond April 17 could push the timeline for securing international flight approvals and time slots from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) by another six months. Negotiations with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for domestic routes and IATA for international flight slots are currently underway.

Despite the delay, the project remains on schedule, with flight testing, including assessments by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), set for November 30, 2024. While the number of flights is not expected to change during the first year of operation, the launch of Noida International Airport marks a significant milestone in improving connectivity for the region and boosting the local economy.
