In a significant move to boost metro connectivity for Noida, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has proposed a new metro corridor from Tughlakabad to Noida’s Sector 142. This new corridor, spanning 15 kilometers, will enhance travel between Noida and Tughlakabad, marking the third major metro link between Delhi and Noida.

Three New Metro Corridors Planned for NCR

To further strengthen the metro network in the National Capital Region (NCR), DMRC has planned three new corridors. The proposed lines include Tughlakabad to Noida Sector 142, Samaypur Badli to Kundli, and Kundli to Sonepat. To initiate the projects, DMRC has already issued a tender for conducting topographical surveys. Once completed, the new corridors are expected to significantly benefit the areas along Greater Noida and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, with future plans to connect Noida with Faridabad through a metro track.

Addressing Traffic Congestion in Noida

Currently, traffic congestion is a severe issue in Noida, particularly for commuters traveling from South Delhi to Greater Noida and those using the Okhla Barrage route. The lack of alternative routes, aside from the two existing bridges, and limited metro connectivity between Badarpur, Faridabad, and Mehrauli contribute to the heavy traffic. The new metro corridor from Tughlakabad to Noida Sector 142 is expected to alleviate these problems, bringing metro connectivity to key areas like Jaitpur, Mithapur, and Madanpur in Delhi, and Raipur, Chaprauli, Mangrauli, and Sultanpur in Noida, as well as sectors 128, 129, and 130 along the Greater Noida Expressway.

Upcoming Metro Projects Await Implementation

While the current proposal is a significant step forward, several key metro projects in Noida are still awaiting execution. These include the metro tracks from Botanical Garden to Sector 142, and from Sector 52 to Greater Noida West. Additionally, plans to connect the Sector 62 metro station with Vasundhara and the Rapid Rail track are still in the planning stage. Residents are eagerly waiting for these projects to materialize, as they will improve the region's overall connectivity and reduce traffic issues for millions of daily commuters.

The proposed Tughlakabad-Noida corridor is expected to play a vital role in addressing Noida's growing transportation needs and will greatly benefit both residential and industrial sectors along its route.
