Greater Noida News: Rs 13.50 lakh fine imposed on Supertech builder, here's why

In Greater Noida, the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has fined Supertech Builder ₹13.50 lakh for not installing chimneys on generators in the Eco Village-2 Society. Out of the five generators in the society, three were found without chimneys. The smoke from these generators was affecting the nearby flats and the neighboring Panchsheel Greens One Society. A video of this issue went viral on social media, prompting the UPPCB to take action.

Residents of Panchsheel Greens One Society in Greater Noida West had complained to the UPPCB about the smoke from the generators in Eco Village-2 Society. They alleged that the generators lacked chimneys and silencers. The smoke from the generators was causing inconvenience to residents, particularly those in Block C of their society.

UPPCB Regional Officer Dev Kumar Gupta stated that an inspection of the society was conducted last month following the complaint. It was found that three out of the five generators lacked chimneys and were running on diesel. Despite issuing a notice to the builder, no action was taken. Consequently, a fine of ₹13.50 lakh was imposed on Supertech Builder for the missing chimneys. A report of this action has also been sent to the headquarters.
