Homebuyers Protest Outside Jaypee School Over Housing Delay

Noida, April 11, 2025 – Frustrated by years of delays and broken promises, over 100 homebuyers of Jaypee Wish Town gathered outside Jaypee Public School in Sector 128, Noida, demanding immediate resumption of construction and possession of their long-awaited homes.

Chanting slogans like “Suraksha Se Raksha” and “Hamare Ghar Humein Wapas Do”, the buyers voiced their anger at Suraksha Realty, which took over Jaypee Infratech Limited (JIL) in May 2024 after an NCLT-approved resolution plan.

Years of Wait, No Progress

Among the protestors was 75-year-old KC Das, who booked a 3-BHK in 2011 hoping to leave it for his son. “Now I’m the one living in my son’s house. I’m retired—I don’t know how many more years I’ll be able to fight,” he said.

Despite the NCLT approval in March 2023, construction remains largely stalled across 97 towers in Noida under projects such as Krescent Homes, Garden Isles, Kasa Isles, Kosmos, and Pebble Court.

Homebuyers Take Legal Action

Ashish Mohan Gupta, President of the JIL Real Estate Allottees Welfare Society (JREAWS), said they have now filed an application in the NCLT for enforcement of the resolution plan, which is listed for April 15.

“Over 22,000 homebuyers are stuck in limbo. We waited 21 months after the resolution plan, but nothing has moved,” he added.

Promises Broken, Labour Shortage Cited

The resolution plan mandated deployment of 12,000 construction workers, but buyers allege that fewer than 2,000 labourers are present on-site. Elderly protestor Prem Singh Chauhan, 75, said, “They promised Diwali, then Holi. Now they just give excuses — pollution rules, rain, holidays — it's endless.”

Indu (78), a retired professor from IIT Roorkee, and her husband Pradeep Kumar (72), had invested over ₹1 crore from their retirement funds. “We never thought we’d be begging for a roof over our heads at this age,” she said.

With construction at a near-standstill and no concrete timeline from Suraksha Realty, homebuyers are calling on the government and courts for intervention.
