Noida News: Hackers steal Rs 16.50 crore from Bank by hacking server

Noida: A major cybercrime incident has come to light from a branch of Nainital Bank in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Hackers have looted ₹16.50 crore from this branch. Officials stated that through cyber theft, an unknown group of thieves allegedly transferred ₹16.50 crore to various accounts.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Vivek Ranjan Rai mentioned that the police have started investigating this crime, which took place over five days in June. Rai said, "The IT manager of the Nainital Bank branch located in Sector 62 filed a complaint at the cyber crime police station stating that unknown individuals hacked the bank's server between June 16 and 20."

Bank server hacked

The officer said, "The culprits used the hacked server to gain control of the bank manager's login ID and password. By doing this, they transferred ₹16.50 crore from the bank to various accounts."

He added that the investigation so far has revealed that this amount was sent to 89 different accounts. A special team has been formed to investigate this case.
