During the encounters, police reported that two criminals were shot and injured, while one managed to evade capture. The injured suspects have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment, while police have launched an extensive search operation to locate the escaped suspect.
Details of the Encounters
The first encounter took place near DLF Mall in the Sector 20 area when police attempted to stop a suspicious motorcycle rider. The suspect, identified as Ajit, allegedly had a history of stealing two-wheelers and was involved in chain and mobile thefts. Upon being stopped by the police, Ajit opened fire and attempted to flee but was shot in the leg during the exchange. He was immediately taken to the hospital for medical care. Authorities indicated that Ajit primarily targeted the Sector 16A Film City area for his thefts.
The second encounter occurred on Pusta Road in Sector 126, where two motorcycle-riding suspects were involved in thefts at factories and residential homes, as well as robberies against pedestrians. When police tried to pull them over for a check, the suspects fired at the officers and attempted to escape. Their motorcycle crashed after hitting a divider. During the police's retaliatory firing, one suspect, known as Gaurav alias Tushar, was injured, while his accomplice fled the scene. Gaurav has also been admitted to the hospital for treatment, and efforts to apprehend the other suspect are ongoing.
