Unitech Warns Flat Buyers: Clear Dues or Face Project Halt and Allotment Cancellation
The board of directors appointed by the government for Unitech Group has issued a warning to flat buyers who haven't cleared their dues. In a recent notice, buyers were informed that if they fail to make the pending payments, construction on their flats will be stopped, and their allotment may be canceled. This notice comes after nearly a decade, as Unitech resumes construction on several projects.
Flat Buyers Threatened with Allotment Cancellation Amid Unitech Project Delays
Unitech's board of directors has raised concerns over the non-payment of dues by flat buyers, which is hampering construction efforts. Buyers in Noida, Greater Noida, and other regions have been given a direct ultimatum: either clear the dues or face the risk of project delays and flat allotment cancellations. Unitech's board highlighted that without adequate payments, it will be difficult to continue construction and pay contractors, forcing them to halt the work.
Unitech Projects in Greater Noida and Gurgaon Face Financial Struggles Due to Unpaid Dues
The financial health of several Unitech projects, including those in Greater Noida and Gurgaon, remains weak due to the non-payment of dues by flat buyers. Unitech Cascade, Unitech Heights, and Habitat projects in Greater Noida are suffering from low compliance rates, with buyers only paying a fraction of the demanded amount. Meanwhile, Gurugram projects like Unitech Escape and Sunbreeze have fared slightly better in terms of payments.
Noida Buyers Lead in Non-Payment, Unitech Board Urges Timely Dues Clearance
The Unitech board has flagged Noida flat buyers as leading in non-payment of dues, causing significant delays in project completion. Some buyers have only paid minimal amounts despite repeated notices. For instance, one buyer at Unitech Golf & Country Club owes ₹1.9 crore but has only paid ₹23.9 lakh. These delays are contributing to major setbacks in the project’s progress, with construction already reaching advanced stages.
