Significance of Magh Gupt Navratri
Navratri is being celebrated four times a year. It is also known as Magh Navratri or secret Navratri because it falls in the month of Magh when people perform with deep devotion, meditation, and other spiritual practices.
This time the devotees will secretly worship 10 Mahavidyas of the Goddess Durga for getting strength, wisdom, and prosperity from them. It is said to be the most favourable time for the tantriks and sadhaks so that they deepen their relation with god.
Puja Vidhi of Magh Gupt Navratri 2025
Kalash Sthapana starts the Navratri Puja. Kalash symbolizes the arrival of Goddess Durga. Let's know what is done while performing puja:
Kalash Sthapana: A sacred pot (kalash) is placed in front of Maa Durga at an auspicious time. The germination procedure takes place in the pot with added barley seeds, which signifies growth and prosperity.
Akhand Jyoti: A sacred lamp called jyoti is kept lit till the period of Navratri.
Puja Offerings: Flowers, kumkum, coconut, and incense sticks are offered to Maa Durga.
Durga Saptashati Recitation: Chanting the Durga Saptashati and Devi Path invoke divine blessings.
Navagraha Puja: Nine planetary deities' worship, ensuring total prosperity.
Fasting & Prayers on daily basis: A majority of the devotees go on a 9-day fasting by taking fruits and sattvic food.
