The latest case involves the Hibox Mystery Box Scam, where around 30,000 people were reportedly cheated through the app, which was promoted by several social media influencers.

Delhi Police Uncover Hibox Scam

The IFSO Special Cell of Delhi Police has revealed a massive scam linked to the Hibox app, which promised users a mix of mystery box shopping and investment returns. The police stated that a syndicate behind the app tricked thousands of people by promising guaranteed profits.

"A syndicate duping around 30,000 people on the pretext of providing a guaranteed return in the name of investment in the application 'Hibox' was busted by IFSO unit, Special Cell," said a police official.


Influencers Involved in Promotion

What made the Hibox Mystery Box Scam even more surprising was the involvement of popular social media influencers and YouTubers in promoting the app. The Delhi Police sent summons to several influencers, including Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan, Lakshay Choudhary, Purav Jha, and comedian Bharti Singh, asking them to join the investigation. These influencers had endorsed the app on their platforms, leading many of their followers to trust and use it.

Hibox claimed to offer users the excitement of mystery box shopping, where people purchase items without knowing what they are getting until the package arrives. In addition, the app attracted users by promising them guaranteed returns on investments. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a scam, as people did not receive the promised returns, and many lost their money.
