Myntra Scam: Woman Orders Footwear, Receives Fake Brand Sticker | Viral Instagram Video Raises Concerns

In a shocking case, one of India's major online shopping platforms, Myntra, is facing criticism after a woman, Harshita Bhardwaj Tiwari, said that she received a pair of footwear along with a fake brand sticker. The incident, which soon spread like wildfire, is now raising questions about trust for customers and the genuineness of products in this e-commerce site.

It started when Tiwari ordered a pair of shoes from Myntra's Mast & Harbour collection. However, what she received was an entirely different pair of shoes, not even belonging to the Mast & Harbour brand but actually to DressBerry. But it had a fake Mast & Harbour sticker on top of the DressBerry label. Tiwari was left shell-shocked by the incident, and she recorded the incident on an Instagram video, which has since garnered more than 6.3 million views.

"'Myntra is such a scam!'" Tiwari wrote in her post, frustrated over the attempted scam to cover up the original brand. In the video, she clearly highlights the brand switch and sticker cover-up, leaving most viewers shocked by the failure of the e-commerce platform to ensure authenticity. The video quickly went viral, as users started commenting about similar experiences with Myntra.

In response to the rising outrage, Myntra reached out to Tiwari. The Bengaluru-based company ensured her that action would be taken swiftly. Myntra requested she share details about the order so they can attend to her complaint promptly.

While Myntra has assured reviewing the issue, reactions on social media have been mixed. Some users reported similar problems, claiming that they received incorrect or fake items, while others suggested that the situation was not as severe since both Mast & Harbour and DressBerry are private labels of Myntra.
