Noida Police Bust Fake Call Center Offering Holiday Packages, Loots Lakhs From Victims

Noida Police have smashed a fake call centre scamming people with attractive holiday packages but siphoning lakhs of rupees from them. The gang used the identity of "Country Holiday Travel India Limited" while setting up this fake call center in Sector 63, Noida. As many as 32 people have been arrested by the police-including 17 women-and they have been involved in scamming customers by duping them with false vacations.

They attracted victims with seemingly attractive holiday deals, including expensive nine-day luxury trips worth over ₹2.5 lakh. The customers were promised lavish vacations, but after making payments, they either received no further communication or had their money stolen without receiving the promised bookings.

The call centre ran for more than two years and targeted hundreds of victims. Anita, a resident of Amrapali Eden Park in Noida, had paid ₹84,000 for a nine-day package that was supposed to include a stay at an ITC hotel. Authorities were alerted after she filed a complaint. When the booking failed to materialize and no refund was issued, she reported the matter to the police. This complaint led to further investigation, which revealed a series of frauds involving several other victims from Noida and Pune.

The police seized many equipment items during the raid on the call centre. These included four laptops, three monitors, and several iPads and mobile devices. The documents and evidence from the scene further pointed toward the fraudulent operation.

The gang was very clever in making their scam look legitimate, offering attractive deals that were hard to resist. However, after receiving payments, they would either stop responding or vanish without a trace, leaving victims frustrated and financially drained.

Noida Police have warned citizens about the holiday package deals that looked too good to be true, especially those involving big advance payment. The police have widened their investigation into the rogue call center and are tracing more possible victims.
