QNET Fraud: Indore Woman Duped of ₹1 Lakh in Alleged Scam

QNET Fraud: An Indore-based woman, Kusum, has filed a complaint against two individuals, Kanishka and Pushpendra, accusing them of scamming her of ₹1 lakh under the guise of an online business opportunity. The accused reportedly promised high returns, but the venture turned out to be linked to the controversial QNET multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme.

Promised ₹5 Crore in Returns Over Five Years

According to Kusum's complaint, she was lured into the scheme with promises of earning ₹5 crore within five years. Kanishka, an acquaintance, assured her that the opportunity was not related to MLM or network marketing. Instead, it was portrayed as a legitimate online business involving brand representation and transaction-based earnings.

₹1 Lakh Deposited Without Knowing QNET's Involvement

Convinced by her friend's claims, Kusum transferred ₹1 lakh via NEFT on September 13, 2022. However, after the payment, she was made to attend seminars and training sessions for 2-3 months. When she asked how to start earning, the accused revealed that she needed to recruit others into the scheme.

Shocking Demands and Hidden Details

Kusum alleges that she was pressured to meet potential recruits in upscale hotels and restaurants, wearing revealing clothes, to persuade them to invest amounts ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh. The accused only disclosed the company's name—QNET—after the refund period had passed, further solidifying suspicions of fraudulent intent.

The Indore police have launched an investigation based on Kusum's complaint. Preliminary findings suggest the accused deliberately withheld key information to gain her trust and take advantage of her investment. Authorities suspect foul play, as the accused failed to provide valid explanations for their actions or refund the money.
