Tushar Singh Bisht Arrest: Delhi Man Defrauds Over 700 Women on Dating Apps

Tushar Singh Bisht Arrest: A 23-year-old resident of Shakarpur, East Delhi, was arrested for scamming over 700 women on popular dating platforms like Bumble and Snapchat. Bisht, who worked as a recruiter in Noida, created a fake identity to exploit women by extorting money from them using intimate content.
The Fake Identity and Scam Details
Tushar Singh Bisht posed as a US-based model on social media and dating apps, using stolen photos and stories of a Brazilian model to build trust with women, primarily aged 18-30. He claimed to be on a soul-searching trip in India, gaining the trust of his victims before manipulating them into sharing personal details like phone numbers and intimate photos or videos.
What started as harmless interaction soon escalated into extortion. Once Tushar had intimate content from his victims, he threatened to leak or sell the content unless they paid him money.
Extortion on Bumble, Snapchat, and WhatsApp
According to the police, Bisht interacted with over 500 women on Bumble and 200 more on Snapchat and WhatsApp. One victim, a Delhi University student, met him on Bumble in January 2024. After sharing personal photos and videos with him, he demanded money, threatening to release the content online. The victim initially complied but later sought help from her family and filed a complaint with the Cyber Police Station in December 2024.
Police Investigation and Arrest
With the help of digital evidence, ACP Arvind Yadav and the West Delhi Cyber Police traced Tushar’s activities and conducted a raid in Shakarpur, where they arrested him. During the raid, the police recovered evidence including 13 credit cards, a virtual international number, and conversations with over 60 women, along with proof of similar extortion cases.
Motivation Behind the Scam
Despite holding a bachelor's degree in business administration and a steady job, Tushar turned to cybercrime, driven by greed. His arrest highlights the growing issue of online extortion and the need for awareness among users of dating apps and social media.
