Beetle discovered in 230 million-year-old Lizard Excreta, reveal scientists

Scientists have discovered a tiny beetle in fossilized droppings of the Silesaurus opolensis.

The tiny beetle was found when the scientists were scanning the excreta of the Silesaurus opolensis. The tiny beetle which weighed about 15 kg lived in the region of Poland around 230 million years ago.

“We were absolutely amazed by the abundance and fantastic preservation of the beetles in the coprolite fragment”. He added, “There are heaps of things you can study based on fossilized droppings,” Martin Qvarnstrom, who is associated with the Uppsala University of Sweden, was quoted as saying in a report published by BBC.

According to the scientists, the ancient lizards may have swallowed the discovered this tiny creature alongside the big ones.
