CPCB: Delhi stands third among states with most contaminated sites

The national capital is at third place on the list of states and union territories that have the most contaminated sites under territory, a data prepared by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has claimed.

According to the CPCB, a total of 112 contaminated sites have been found across the country.

Besides these contaminated sites, a total of 168 sites that require investigation have also been identified by the board.

The contaminated sites contain toxic and hazardous substances which may pose threat to the lives of people living near them.

While Odisha topped the list with 23 contaminated sites, Uttar Pradesh stood at second spot with 21 such sites. Delhi which has 11 contaminated sites found the third place on the list.
