The news about spotting of a UFO in the skies from any part of the world always becomes the topic of discussion and creates a buzz among alien enthusiasts! Whether aliens exist or not, remains a mystery. However, in what could add to the excitement of alien hunters is the fact that NASA has decided to investigate UFOs that have often been spotted in the sky several times.
NASA’s special team to investigate ‘UFOs’
Hence, NASA has announced that it has formed a special independent study team of 16 persons will investigate the unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). Things in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or natural phenomena, or the UFOs are referred to as UAP.
The independent study which started on October 24 will last for a period of nine months. NASA says the research conducted by the team will help in studies of UAPs in the future. The team will learn how data gathered from various sources can be analysed to solve mystery of UAPs.
Full report by mid-2023
NASA will make public a full report of the findings by the team in mid-2023, according to the agency. However, there won’t be any classified data as the study will focus only on unclassified data.
“Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are at NASA. Understanding the data we have surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies. Data is the language of scientists and makes the unexplainable, explainable,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate, in an agency press statement.
