NASA Scientists may detect extra-terrestrial life in 5-10 years

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) could detect ammonia around gas dwarf planets. It will start the detection process after just a few orbits.

This is how the telescope will discover the signature of life on other planets. Gas Dwarf planets can foster life.

However, scientists are yet to say anything about the atmosphere of the gas dwarf planets, apparently because none of the gas dwarf planets exist within our solar system.

“What really surprised me about the results is that we may realistically find signs of life on other planets in the next 5 to 10 years,” Caprice Phillips, a graduate student at The Ohio State University, said.

“Humankind has contemplated the questions, Are we alone? What is life? Is life elsewhere similar to us?” said Phillips.

“My research suggests that for the first time, we have the scientific knowledge and technological capabilities to realistically begin to find the answers to these questions,” he added.
