As per scientists, a large sunspot is most likely to face Earthwards very soon.
The warning comes as the Sun continues sending its strong flares interrupting radio signals.
The intense flares also cause major interruptions to our telecommunication and satellite-based services across the world.
This time it may likely affect India. Just a day ago, an intense solar flare (X2 class) hit Earth. Its effects were felt across India and large parts of Southeast Asia.
What are Solar Flares?
These are massive bursts of electromagnetic radiation that emerge from the Sun’s surface. They are usually associated with the Sun’s active regions, for example, its sunspots.
In the recent days, more than a dozen solar eruptions have come out from a single sunspot on the sun.
The cosmic event may also cause some moderate sky storms on Earth. Sunspots are eruptions on the sun that occur when magnetic lines twist.
Mostly, these solar eruptions are associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs); these are streams of charged particles that shoot into space.
We are in the beginning of the 11-year solar cycle of activity, it began in December 2019.
NASA keeps a check on the sun and its activities. Not only on earth but the insights also help in protecting the astronauts in space.
