The Quadrantiden meteor shower, one of the most spectacular but sometimes hard-to-see events in the sky, peaked on Saturday night, marking the first meteor shower of 2021.
The annual meteor shower is known for its “bright fireball meteorites” and is “considered to be one of the best annual meteor showers,” according to NASA.
Skygazers took it to social media to share their pictures of possible meteor sightings. Here are some of them:
1. Corpus Christi, Texas
2. Vero Beach, Florida
3. Everglades National Park, Florida
4. Asheville, North Carolina
5. Montauk, New York
6. Kvinnherad, Norway
7. Muie, Scotland
