A miracle is set to occur in the skies of Vijayawada from February 1st to February 6th, when a rare Green Comet appears after thousands of years.
The Green Comet, designated C/2022 E3 (ZTF), will finally be visible in the Southern Hemisphere in bright skies after almost 50,000 years. Earlier, during the Ice Age, it had been visible over Earth.
The Green Comet will pass by the Earth on February 1 near 26 million miles (42 million kilometres), according to NASA. It won’t come back for millions of years.
The Wide Field Survey Camera at the Zwicky Transient Facility was used by astronomers to make the initial observation of the comet in March of last year. At the moment, it was circling Jupiter.
