All those who are passionate about moon-gazing, especially in the northern hemisphere should get ready. It will be a special visual treat for all, Strawberry moon is the new buzz these days.
Moon will look like some low-hanging fruit this week. It will be a ‘Super Strawberry Moon’. The Full Moon of June is the lowest and the latest to rising of 2021. It also happens to be one of the brightest full Moons of the year.
We all know the ecliptic. It’s a great circle in the sky along which the Sun appears to move throughout the day. It’s high in summers and low in winters.
The full moon rises in the southeast in summer and sets in the southwest. It stays as long in the summer night sky as the Sun does in winter. READ MORE ABOUT THE TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE
And this strawberry full moon will be so low in the sky that it will seem bigger than it is. That is called the moon illusion. Moreover, this full Moon is the final ‘supermoon’ of 2021. It will appear to be about 7 per cent bigger than most full Moons because of its closeness to Earth in its slightly elliptical orbit.

Also, all the full moons rise around the time of sunset. This is because the earth is in between the Sun and the Moon and moonrise occurs at its latest in June.
Moon looks orange, specially when it is a full moon, when it is close to the horizon, so it will be at moonrise and moonset.
Or we can say that it is a result of our earth’s atmosphere. Earth’s oxygen and nitrogen-rich atmosphere will absorb light with short wavelengths like blue and only let through colors with longer wavelengths like orange.
