The dream of owning a piece of the Moon came true for a woman named Sapna Anija from Ajmer when her husband Dharmendra Anija gifted her three acres of land on Earth’s natural satellite on their wedding anniversary.
Dharmendra wanted to do something special for Sapna on their eighth wedding anniversary and hence he decided to buy the land on Moon, he told ANI.
“It was our wedding anniversary on December 24. I wanted to do something special for her. Everyone gifts earthly possessions like cars and jewellery, but I wanted to do something different. Therefore, I purchased land on the moon for her,” he said
He bought the land through a firm named Luna Society International in New York City, USA and said that it took around a year to complete the process of purchasing the plot.
“I’m happy. I think I’m the first man in Rajasthan to buy a land on the Moon,” he added.
Sapna said she never ever expected to receive such “out of the world” gift from hey hubby.
“I’m extremely happy. I never expected he would gift me something so special. The party was organised by professional event organisers, and the setting was surreal. It felt like we are literally on the moon. There during the ceremony, he gifted me a framed certificate of the property document,” said Sapna.
Few months ago, a resident of Bodh Gaya named Neeraj Kumar had also bought one-acre land on the moon on the occasion of his birthday after he got inspired by actors Shahrukh Khan and late Sushant Singh Rajput.
