Watch: NASA drops mission trailer for Perseverance’s arrival on Mars

NASA’s helicopter Ingenuity all set for first Mars flight

The Perseverance rover will embark on a 300 million kilometer journey to the surface of Mars a couple of months later.

NASA dropped a one-minute “mission trailer” on Monday as it announced a highly anticipated mission and the video looked more like movie trailer with a dramatic music and thrills.

If Perseverance’s landing in the Jezero crater on Mars will be successful, the little robot will need to collect climatic and geological information, rock and soil samples, and signs of microbial life on the Red Planet.

Launched in July, the mission is expected to land on February 18, 2021. Live commentary of the event will begin at 11:15 am PST at nasa.gov/live.
