Ajinkya Rahane is a vice captain of the Indian Test team and an international cricketer who represents India.

The name Ajinkya Rahane provides a sigh of comfort to any Indian who feared their team would never find a suitable substitute for the iconic VVS Laxman.

Rahane, a Mumbai native, has already displayed glimpses of brilliance in his brief career, which Laxman would have admired.

In all formats of the game, Ajinkya Rahane is an important component in the batting department.

He has batted at various positions depending on the team’s needs, demonstrating his versatility as a cricketer.

So, here’s some of his best knock

#5. 96 against South Africa at Durban

Rahane, who is only in his third Test, has already shown the other batters how it’s done.

Despite the fact that India lost the bout, he was the team’s sole fighter. He batted until the conclusion of the first innings, hitting 51 runs to help India reach a solid 334.

But it was in the second inning that he showed off his full potential. He persisted despite the failure of the other batsmen.

His 96 did not help India win the Test, but it did ensure that they did not lose by an innings.

This was the innings where it became clear that he has the ability to solidify his place in the team for the foreseeable future.

#4. 126 against Sri Lanka at Colombo

In their second innings, India enjoyed an 87 run lead. Vijay was in top form, scoring an impressive 82.

Along with him, Rahane hit a match-winning 126 to enable India set Sri Lanka a 413-run target.

Most batsmen failed to make large scores, as they had in the past, but Rahane stayed focused and helped India win the game.

#3. 147 against Australia at Melbourne

The emphasis was on India after Australia posted a whopping 530 in their first innings.

Murali Vijay showed a lot of promise before being dismissed for 68 runs.

Rahane came out and formed a big fourth-wicket partnership with Virat Kohli to enable India escape follow-on and reach 465.

Not Kohli, but Rahane, who struck 147 off just 171 balls to relieve pressure at the other end, was the star of the innings.

It was an innings that gave India a chance to tie the game and keep the series alive.

#2. 127 against South Africa at Delhi

When the majority of the other batsmen failed, Rahane took the charge.

India were struggling at 139 for 6 until Jadeja and Ashwin came in to help Rahane.

But, in the end, it was his 127 that made all the difference, and rescued India from a dangerous scenario.

#1. 103 against England at Lord

India were put in to bat on a track that was so green that it was difficult to distinguish it from the lush field, and they were up against an England bowling attack led by James Anderson and Stuart Broad

And, with the exception of Rahane, every Indian batsman failed to get going.

Given that every other batsman in the top eight failed to go past the 30run mark, his second century was certainly his greatest.

But Rahane stayed tall, scoring 103 to help India reach 295 in the first innings, which was crucial in their historic victory at Lord’s after 28 years.
