Dowry Demands and Abuse Allegations

Her in-laws had insisted on ₹10 lakh in cash and a Honda City car during marriage, Garima said. The wedding ceremony had been postponed until ₹2.5 lakh was delivered, according to reports. She settled in at her in-laws' place of residence in Kidwai Nagar after the marriage, where she claims the dowry abuse went on.

Relocation Didn't Help Garima

Later on, Amit and Garima shifted to Tilak Nagar, hoping to begin a new life. Still, Garima alleges that harassment and mental torture did not cease, even after they changed residences.

Garima's Mental Health and Suicide Attempts

According to her complaint, the constant abuse pushed Garima into depression, compelling her to leave her modeling career. She allegedly tried to commit suicide several times, but was rescued by her parents every time. Her lawyer, Kareem Ahmed Siddiqui, said the court has formally registered the case and issued legal notices.
