Haryana’s Anshul Kamboj Creates History by Taking All 10 Wickets in Ranji Trophy

In a stunning exhibition, Anshul Kamboj from Haryana has carved his name into history books in the Ranji Trophy. He was the one who took all ten wickets in one inning as Kerala were bowled over in the ongoing season. The feat was achieved during the fifth-round match at Chaudhry Bansi Lal Stadium in Lahli, making him only the third player in the history of the Ranji Trophy to dismiss every batsman in the opposition's lineup.

Rare and Historic Performance
The last Ranji Trophy innings was claimed, when a player bagged all the 10 wickets, was in the 1985-86 season by Pradeep Sunderam. Earlier, in 1956-57 season for Bengal, Premangsu Mohan Chatterjee had set the trend. He also reminds one of the great achievement in the history of cricket by Anil Kumble way back in 1999 when he took 10 wickets in a Test against Pakistan. Kamboj's performance against Kerala testifies to his extraordinary skill and determination in modern-day cricket, where it has become more difficult for bowlers to do what he did in an era of flat pitches and aggressive batting.

The Sensational Performance by Kamboj
Then came Kamboj's 10th, when Shaun Roger of Kerala went for a superb catch by Kapil Hooda. His spell is a sensational effort in a season where batting has dominated most formats. What goes with his growing reputation is the fabulous ability to perform in high pressure.

Kamboj's Growing Legacy in First-Class Cricket
This achievement takes Kamboj's tally to more than 50 wickets in first-class cricket after just 19 appearances. The 25-year-old fast bowler recently made his appearances for India A during the ACC Emerging Asia Cup in Oman, and he has carried his outperformance into the red-ball cricket even further. This season, Kamboj took eight wickets in the Duleep Trophy, making him only the third pacer to do so, following Ashoke Dinda and Debasis Mohanty.

IPL Career of Anshul Kamboj
Besides domestic cricket, Anshul Kamboj's entering into fame was not confined to the same. He was picked up by Mumbai Indians during the IPL auction earlier this year, which has marked a great phase in his career. Kamboj has played three games so far during IPL 2024 with two wickets. His promise in both first-class cricket as well as IPL emits a bright future.
