Australia is clashing against England in the 2nd test of the Ashes series.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Aussies batting first declared their innings on 473 at the loss of 9 wickets and England got all out on 236 and Aussies are batting 45 at the loss of 1 wicket by the stumps.

Dawid Malan and Joe Root played great knocks and helped England get over early hiccups.

Mitchell Starc grabbed four wickets in the first innings and played a major role in finishing the English innings on 236.

Stump Day 3 Summary

Joe Root and Dawid Malan came to start the innings on the third day for England.

Dawid Malan and Joe Root built a 138 runs partnership and helped the English side.

Both of them were the only batsmen to score and take a stand in the second innings of the first test.

Cameron Green gave Aussies the breakthrough in the 46th over as he dismissed the English skipper Joe Root.

He got out after scoring 62 runs of 116 balls. Then Malan was then joined by Ben Stokes.

Then Mitchell Starc dismissed the other set English batsman as he dismissed Dawid Malan soon after Joe Root’s dismissal.

Dawid Malan got out after scoring 80 runs of 157 balls in the 52nd over.

Nathan Lyon gave another blow to the English side in form of Ollie Pope in the 57th over and dismissed him on the score of 5.

Mitchell Starc striked again and this time he dismissed Jos Buttler on a duck.

Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes did a small but crucial partnership of 33 runs but Nathan Lyon broke it as he dismissed Chris Woakes on the score of 24 of 40 balls.

Nathan Lyon in his very next over dismissed Ollie Robinson on duck.

Cameron Green grabbed his second wicket of the innings as he dismissed Ben Stokes on the score of 34 on 98 balls.

Stuart Broad and James Anderson were the last pair that met their end by Mitchell Starc, who Dismissed Stuart Broad to grab his fourth wicket.

Australia bowled out England on 236 and earned a 237 runs lead and came to bat again.

David Warner and Marcus Harris came to open the second innings for Australia.

The openers did get a start but failed to make it big as David Warner returned back to pavalion due to an unfortunate run out in the 14th over.

Michael Neser came to join Marcus Harris as the night watchman and is still on the pitch by the stumps.

Australia by the end of stump day 3 are batting on 45 runs at the loss of 1 wickets. Marcus Harris and Michael Neser are still on the pitch.

Aussies unbeaten record in the day-night test matches make it more hard for England to make a comeback.

Anderson and Broad are the only hope for the English side if they can bowled out Australia in the starting phase of the second session.

The comeback now is next to impossible but they can hope for a draw.
