Australia is clashing against England in the 2nd test of the Ashes series.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia managed to score 221 runs at the end of the first day at the loss of two wickets.
Steve Smith is once again playing as the Aussies’ skipper in the longest format of the game and Travis Head is appointed as the vice captain.
Pat Cummins was ruled out of the second test as he has been isolated over covid issues.
Stump Day 1 Summary
Australia won the toss and invited England to Bowl first. Marcus Harris and David Warner came to open the Innings for Australia.

Steve Smith has been appointed as the skipper for Australia in the longest format of the game once again.
This is the 9th day and night test for the Aussies and they are undefeated in the format ever since it’s beginning.
The opening pair failed to gave their team a decent start once again as Australia lost their first wicket on the score of 4.
Aussies could only manage to score 4 runs by the 8th over. Marcus Harris got out after scoring just 3 runs.

Stuart Broad was making his comeback in the second test after missing out in the first one and gave England their first breakthrough.
David Warner was then joined by Marnus Labuschagne and they both helped Aussies get over the early breakthrough.
They progressed the scoreboard and joined a 172 runs partnership. This was their second consecutive 150 plus partnership, they played great knocks in the first test too.
Ben Stokes dismissed David Warner in the 65th over and gave England the crucial breakthrough.

Warner got out after scoring 95 runs of 167 balls.
Marnus Labuschagne was then joined by Steve Smith. Both of them progressed the scoreboard till the Stumps.
Australia are on 221 runs at the loss of 2 wickets by the stumps with Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith still on the crease with a 45 runs not out partnership.
