Aus vs Ind: Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav post airport selfies

Ahead of India’s boxing day Test down under, wrist spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav took to their social media handles to update the fans about their journey. India will lock horns with the hosts in the 2nd Test match from 26th December.

It will be an interesting couple of days as BCCI is yet to announce the Playing XI for the Melbourne Test sans captain Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami.

Jadeja who last played in the 1st T20I of the series was side-lined from the opening Test in Adelaide owing to a concussion. Kuldeep was in the 3rd ODI playing XI and is yet to feature in the team since. Both the spinners posted a ‘story’ on their Instagram accounts as they boarded the flight to Melbourne.

India will be poised to make a mark in the Test series from the remaining 3 fixtures. After a commendable start in the 1st Test at Adelaide, the Aussies knocked Virat Kohli and Co out of the game in a single session. Eyeing to extend their lead of 62 runs in the 1st innings, the visitors collapsed on Day 3 of the day/night Test.

India posted 36 runs and were dismissed with Shami retired hurt. This was India’s lowest total in their Test cricket history, replacing the previous total of 42. Post-game, Virat Kohli commented, “It really hurts. We probably didn’t have enough intent in batting today. It’s very hard to put those feelings into words. We had a lead of 60-odd when we arrived. And then we just collapsed. We played two days of good cricket to get in a position and then just lose it in an hour.”

Kohli will be heading home because he is going to be a father soon. India will also be playing without ace pacer Shami as he fractured his bowling arm while batting in the 1st Test. While Rohit Sharma will be able to be a part of the team from the 3rd Test, it is an anxious wait for the Indian fans to know the Playing XI of the 2nd Test.
