BCCI AGM: Cricket in 2028 Olympics, new IPL teams on agenda

The 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be held on December 24, the BCCI secretary Jay Shah informed state bodies on Thursday. Earlier, the meeting was postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The notice issued by the secretary-general accessed by ANI stated 23 principle points of the agenda.

The BCCI will seek approval from representatives of all state associations for the inclusion of two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams. As per the agenda, the AGM will hold talks on the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The agenda includes the election of vice-president and election of two representatives of the General Body in the IPL Governing Council. Election of two representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL. Besides, it will also hold talks on the appointment of the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer in the board.

There will be talks on the appointment of a board representative for ICC meetings.

The AGM will also include discussions on India’s Future Tour Programs and the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled to be held in India. It will update on ICC matters and update on National Cricket Academy matters.
