Kiran Pal Singh, the father of India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, passed away on Thursday (May 20) after a battle with cancer. He also had a disease in liver.

Bhuvaneshwar’s father died in his Meerut home at the age of 63. He was suffering from the cancer for some time.

Kiran Pal Singh has worked in police in Uttar Pradesh before voluntarily retiring.

He had been sick since September 2020, and his condition got worse in the last two weeks.

He got under successful chemotherapy in Delhi and Noida and recovered quickly.

His illness worsened again two weeks ago, and he was admitted to a local Ganganagar hospital before shifting to Muzafarnagar hospital.

Bhuvneshwar, who is currently at his residence, was looking after his father along with the rest of the family.

Despite being sick, Bhuvi’s father requested with people to vote for his son for the ICC Player of the Month Award, which he later won.

On the cricketing front, the pacer name was not in the India squad for the tour of England for the WTC Final and the bilateral five-match Test series.

Bhuvneshwar play cricket for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2021 before the season got cancel owing to Covid-19.

In five matches for SRH, he took three wickets, although the side only won one of their seven matches.

When the tournament was postpone indefinitely, SRH was languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2021 table.
