The first test match from the two test match series between India and New Zealand ended in a draw.
The match was a really thrilling contest and a great example of how great test matches are.
Indian spinners dominated the whole match. Team India even grabbed 9 Kiwi wickets in the second innings but Rachin Ravindra held one end to lead the result towards the draw.
The Debutant Shreyas Iyer was awarded with the player of the match for his amazing batting performance in both the Innings. He scored a ton in the first innings following it by a crucial half century in the second innings.
Stump Day 5 Summary
Tom Latham and Somerville came to start the fifth and last day of the Kanpur test.
Both of them joined 76 runs crucial partnership and gave Kiwis a good start. Umesh Yadav dismissed Somerville on the score of 36 of 110 balls.

Kane Williamson joined Latham. Tom Latham completed his half century and batted for almost 20 overs before Tom Latham’s dismissal. He got out after scoring 52 of 146 balls.
Kane was then joined by Ross Taylor who got out after scoring just 2 runs on Jadeja’s delivery but both of them batted for almost 10 overs.
Axar Patel dismissed Henry Nicholls in the very next over on the score of 1 of 4 balls. Jadeja dismissed Kane Williamson in the 70th over on the score of 24 of 112 balls.

Ashwin grabbed his third wicket in form of Tom Blundell. He got out after scoring 2 runs of 38 balls.
Ravindra Jadeja gave Kiwis their last two blows in form of Kyle Jamieson and Tim Southee.
It felt like Team India might get that last wicket too but Rachin Ravindra played 91 balls and Ajaz Patel 23 balls.
Both of them stretched the match till the last ball and ended it in a draw. Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Will Somerville all played over a 100 deliveries which was a crucial point for them to not lose the match.

Indian spinners although dominated the match and had complete control over it. The trio of Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar Patel grabbed 17 wickets.
The thrilling test match ended in a draw. India were on the verge of winning it but missed by a wicket, on the other hand Kiwis would be grateful that they were able to save the match.
