The first test match of the two test match series between India and New Zealand ended in a draw.

Indian spinners dominated the whole match. Team India even grabbed 9 Kiwi wickets in the second innings but Rachin Ravindra held one end to lead the result towards the draw.

The match was a really thrilling contest and a great example of how great test matches are.

Ajinkya Rahane as a skipper did a fabulous job and dominated most of the match. His decisions allowed Team India to grab control of the match.

Although Ajinkya Rahane failed to contribute with the bat in both the Innings and the chain of low scores continued.

He said “Ajinkya Rahane is, more than anyone else, keen on getting big runs under his belt and it’s a matter of just one game before the India vice-captain regains his form.

“I mean you don’t get worried. Of course you would like more runs from Ajinkya, he would like to score more runs.

“He is a quality player and he has done well for India in the past. He is one of those guys who has quality and experience and it’s a matter of game when he would like to turn it around and he knows that and we know that”.

Ajinkya Rahane was being questioned on his decision to declare the Innings pretty late and doubted if it was his decision that costed Team the match.

The skipper said “It was a very good game of cricket, they played really well. We came back really well after the first session.

“We wanted to get the partnership going. We were looking to bowl five to six over in the end, but we needed that partnership to carry on.

“I don’t think we could have done anything different,”.

Virat Kohli will be back for the next match and Rahane said the playing 11 will be the choice of the management.
