Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India managed to restrict Sri Lanka on the score of 146 at the loss of 5 wickets and then chased it with 6 wickets and 19 balls remaining.
Shreyas Iyer was awarded with player of the match award for smashing an amazing match winning half century of 73 runs of 45 balls.
Shreyas Iyer was also awarded with the player of the series award for his consistent batting performance throughout the three matches.

He is now the player who has played the most T20 matches in International Cricket a feat, well deserved by the Hitman.
Shreyas Iyer smashed three fifties throughout the three matches of the T20 series against Sri Lanka and became the second Indian to do so.
The record was earlier held by none other than King Kohli, who achieved this feat in a series against West Indies.
Shreyas Iyer has been the key player behind the dominant victories in all of the three matches.
The victory in the third match also mark the 12th consecutive win for Team India in the shortest format of the game.
The last 3 World Cup matches, 3 matches win against Kiwis, 3 matches win against Windies and now 3 matches win against Sri Lanka.
