Ahead of the three-match ODI series against England, BCCI announced India’s squad on Friday. Prasidh Krishna, Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya are the new faces in the Indian ODI squad for the upcoming white ball series. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the Indian squad for the series to be played in Pune from 23rd March.
Brand new face
Among the regulars, BCCI have named a brand-new face in the 18-man ODI squad for the series. Prasidh Krishna, the 25-year-old quick from Karnataka besides Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya have earned a call up.
Krishna has played 48 List A games (81 wickets at an average of 23.07). And, 40 T20s (33 wickets at 35.84 and an economy rate of 8.49). He has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders set-up since 2018 in IPL. Krishna has played 24 games for the KKR, returning 18 wickets with an economy rate of 9.33.
Surykumar Yadav made his T20I debut with a match-winning 50 against England in the 4th T20I. Popular for his versatile batting, Yadav was a vital cog in Mumbai Indians’ fifth IPL title victory last year. As for Krunal, he is also a Mumbai Indians’ player in IPL.
