From banters to camaraderie, the Indian Premier League (IPL) never fails to entertain. From nail-biting matches to post-match amusement, the 13th edition of the coveted tournament has witnessed it all in Dubai. But a captain forgetting the name of a player of his team is rare.
In a hilarious fashion, the Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer couldn’t help but laugh out loud as he failed to recall the name of Shimron Hetmyer during the toss of Qualifier 2 in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Commentator Mark Nicholas was asking Iyer the customary questions.
After winning the toss, Shreyas decided to bat first. When Mark asked Shreyas about any changes in the team, Shreyas mentioned Praveen Dubey’s inclusion instead of Prithvi Shaw. Following the comment, as he furthered to mention the change in place of Daniel Sams, he couldn’t name Hetmyer’s name in the first go, but eventually remembered.
