IPL 2021: Afghanistan Cricketers Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi reach UAE for 2nd phase

IPL 2021: Rashid Khan, the star spinner and Mohammad Nabi, the all-rounder of Sunrisers Hyderabad have joined the franchise in the UAE.

They are currently undergoing quarantine.

The team’s management is optimistic that they will be kept in the greatest possible mental state as they compete in the second half of the Indian Premier League‘s 14th edition.

Sources close to the team confirmed to ANI that the two Afghan players have joined the team and are currently through their quarantine period.

“They are very much in UAE and undergoing quarantine. They are not just professionals, they are family and the team will take complete care of them not just during the tournament but at all times. The management will ensure they are in the best frame of mind and perform to the best of their ability,” the source said.

Then Afghanistan Cricket appointed Mohammad Nabi as the captain of the side for upcoming T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, players joining the IPL from the Caribbean Premier League and the South Africa-Sri Lanka series; would be in isolation for two days before joining their respective team bubbles.

Because of the bubble to bubble transfer, they won’t have to quarantine for six days.

The 14th season, which was postpone in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will start on September 19.

The first match will take place in Dubai between Chennai Super Kings and the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
