IPL 2021, DC vs RR: Delhi cut Royal’s chase short, beat RR by 33 runs

IPL 2021 featured Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals in the first half of the double header.

Delhi Capitals stopped the Royal’s run chase on 121 runs.

Delhi after this ‘Royal Victory’ is back on the top of the table.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first.

Shreyas Iyer recieved the Player of the natch award for his 43 of 32 balls. Shreyas’ knock helped Delhi Capitals to reach a fighting total of 154.

Match Summary

Royals offered Delhi Capitals to bat first after winning the toss.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan came to open for the side. In the previous match both of them played an amazing partnership and ensured their team’s victory.

KartiK Tyagi and Chetan Sakariya gave Delhi the early blows and sent both their openers back to pavallion in the first five overs with 21 runs on board.

Iyer and Pant did hold the middle order for quite sometime but eventually gave their wickets in a really small interval.

Iyer missed his half century by 7 runs. He scored 43 runs of 32 deliveries.

Iyer’s knock helped Delhi reach a respectable total of 154. Hetmyer did fire some shots and managed to score 28 off 16 balls before his departure.

Lalit Yadav and Ashwin steered the rest of the inning and dragged the score board to 154 in 20 overs.

Royals came to chase the total of 155 in 20 overs. Liam Livingstone and Yashasvi Jaiswal came into open the Royal’s inning.

Delhi Capitals sent both the Rajasthan openers back to pavallion in the first seven bowl of the innings.

Just when things could have settled for the Royals, Ashwin dismissed Miller in the 5th over to give Royals their third blow.

Rajasthan was down by 5 wickets just at the score of 55 in 12 overs.

Sanju Samson Scored 70 runs in 53 balls but no othee batsmen from the other end supported him.

As a result, Rajasthan Royals could only manage to make 121 in 20 overs and lost the match by 33 runs.

Delhi after winning the match is back at the top of the table and Royals missed their chance to replace KKR in top 4.
