IPL 2021, KKR vs CSK: Rana and Karthik help KKR put 171 on board

IPL 2021 is set to feature two matches on the super sunday. KKR is up against CSK in the first half of the double header.

KKR won the toss and elected to bat first.

Knights has made a good comeback in the second phase of the tournament and even managed to get in top 4.

KKR finished it’s innings with 171 on the scoreboard after losing 6 wickets. CSK will be coming to chase a target of 172.

Match Summary

KKR won the toss and invited Chennai to bowl first.

Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer came to open the innings for KKR. Gill tried to put pressure on Chahar in the first over, even hit him for two consecutive boundaries.

But lost his wicket because of miscommunication in form of a Run Out in the the first over itself.

Then came Rahul Tripathi to the crease. The man in form continued to depict good performance.

KKR lost the wicket of Iyer too in the last over of the powerplay. Iyer got out after scoring 18 of 15 balls.

The skipper Eoin Morgan failed again to score and got out after scoring just 8 runs.

Tripathi smashed 45 runs in 33 balls and made sure to give team a good base before his departure.

Shardul Thakur dismissed dangerous seeming Russell in the 17th over on the score of 125.

Rana and Karthik steered the rest of the inning and put 171 on board.

Karthik hit 19 runs in the 19th over on Sam Curran. Karthik got out in the last over after scoring a quick 26 of just 11 deliveries.

KKR managed to put a good total on board. But the game isn’t finished yet, CSK’s batting line-up is pretty strong too.

KKR’s bowling have been impressive in past couple of matches. The contest will be fun to watch, when CSK comes to play his innings.
