IPL 2021, KKR vs RCB: Knights decimate Challengers on 200th game, climb to 5th

IPL 2021, second match of the second phase featured, KKR Vs RCB, one of the most heated IPL rivalry of all time.

KKR defeated RCB in a dominant fashion by 9 wickets and 10 over left in the game.

This was also the the 200th IPL match for the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli. Both team and Virat himself must be really disappointed from their performances.

KKR showed dominant performance in all aspects whether it be bowling or batting. They did manage to outclass the Challengers.

Varun Chakravarthy recieved the player of the match award for his outstanding bowling performance of 3/13 in 4 overs.

Match Summary

RCB skipper, Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first.

RCB lost the wicket of their captain in the second over in form of LBW, to Prasidh Krishna.

Maxwell lost his wicket to Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell sent AB de Villiers back to pavallion, after he clean bowled him on the first delivery.

After that, RCB batsmen never really got any chance as KKR never left their grip over the match.

RCB batsmen could not with stand the Knight’s bowling attack. Chakravarthy and Russell grabbed 3 wickets each, Lockie Ferguson with 2 and Prasidh Krishna took the important wicket of King Kohli.

Siraj did fire some shots at the last but even that could not last for long. As a result RCB got all out in 19 overs, with the score of 92.

KKR came to bat to chase the small score as soon as they can, so they could increase their net runrate.

Shubman Gill and the debutant Venkatesh Iyer came to open the KKR innings. Both of them started really well as they finish the first powerplay with 56/0 on scoreboard.

KKR lost their first wicket in form of Shubman Gill in the 10th over, but by then the job was done, KKR had a score of 82 on board. He got out after scoring 48 of 34 balls with six 4s and one 6.

Then came, the muscle of the team, Andre Russell to finish the match soon.

But the limelight was stolen from him by the Debutant, Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 3 boundaries in the next 4 balls to chase the score and finish in style. He scored 41 runs in just 27 deliveries with 7 boundaries and 1 maximum.

KKR has now jumped to the 5th position now with 6 points and RCB is still on the 3rd.

KKR needs to win his upcoming fashion in such dominant manners to secure there place in playoffs.

Meanwhile, RCB needs to get there head over this loss and back in the game, cause they still have chances to stay in top 4.
