English all-rounder Liam Livingstone has flown back to England due to bubble fatigue. He was in the Rajasthan Royals team in IPL 2021. Royals who have now lost two of their first three matches, are also missing Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer.
The all-rounder, who could have played a key role in the Royals setup in the absence of Ben Stokes. He is the second high profile cricketer to withdraw from the competition due to bubble fatigue.
After spending a significant portion of the last six months with the national team and in the Indian Premier League, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood was the first cricketer this season to withdraw from the tournament, citing bubble fatigue.
Prior to the start of the competition, RR’s Director of Cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, insisted that the franchise has an open-door policy. It means that any cricketer can walk out of the competition without any question asked by the franchise.
The franchise confirmed the news and stated that it supports the cricketer’s decision and will continue to assist him in every way possible.
“Liam Livingstone has flown back home late last night, due to bubble fatigue accumulated over the past year. We understand and respect his decision, and will continue supporting him in any way we can,” the franchise tweeted on Tuesday.
