IPL 2021, PBKS vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) snapped its three-match losing streak with a convincing nine-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 14 of IPL 2021 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.

SRH dismissed PBKS at 120/10 in 19.4 overs. SRH chased down the total with ease by losing only 1 wicket and registered their first win of this IPL.

Punjab’s batting order collapses

Coming in from Mumbai to Chennai, the team’s batting order suffered a huge collapse. The slide began with KL Rahul’s wicket for 4 and the wickets were falling at regular intervals.

Shahrukh Khan (22) and Mayank Agarwal (22) providing the only notable contributions to Punjab Kings.

Bairstow and Warner gave a good start to SRH

SRH openers Jonny Bairstow (63) and David Warner (37) pounded Punjab into submission while chasing the total, adding 73 runs off 60 balls to lay the foundation.

They both gave a good start by getting 50 runs in the power play.

Kane Williamson’s first game

With the departure of Warner, Kane Williamson sealed the game with Bairstow, with a knock of 16 runs off 19 balls.

Bairstow found an able ally in Williamson, who was playing his first match of the season, and the pair added an unbeaten 48 runs to help SRH earn their first victory of the season.

Bowlers are star in SRH’s win

When Sunrisers Hyderabad were asked to bowl first, the pace-spin duo of Khaleel (3/21) and Abhishek Sharma (2/24) did the bulk of the damage, They dismisses Punjab Kings for a disappointing 120 in 19.4 overs.

Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/16), star Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (1/17) and Siddharth Kaul (1/27) each took a wicket.

Player of the Match: Jonny Bairstow, 63 runs of 56 balls.
